MIX now works with Firefox 2.0, the popular open source browser, and IE 7, Microsoft’s latest version of Internet Explorer.
In addition, the Office of Information Technology also changed the name and upgraded the ”look and feel” of eCampus, formerly WebCT Vista, over Winter Break.
Tim Marton, director of information systems, said last week that he and his office felt the frustration of many students and faculty who have to use a patchwork of browsers and operating systems to negotiate services like MIX, eCampus, STAR and GroupWise. He blamed the problems on the software’s vendors, who he said would not certify or give support for users with new or untested browsers.
